Meet your councillor for Livesey with Pleasington.
Cllr Helen Voegt BA Hons
I would like to thank everybody who voted for me. I will work hard to merit the trust you have placed in me.

Support Reason

I support Reform UK because Nigel and the Reform team have recognised the defects of Labour and Conservatives policies and are addressing them, particularly; Immigration: We urgently need to protect our sovereignty and our boarders of the United Kingdom. I believe Reform has a robust policy in its Operation Restoring Justice. The Economy: We are traditionally a country of hard working people; remember the ‘industrial revolution’ making us economically one of the most powerful countries in the world. I am supporting Reform to give people back the incentive to work, and escape the benefits trap. NHS: Reform believes in a major reform of the NHS and so do I. Reclaiming Britain: Once a proud nation, our heritage, our way of life, our culture, are all being eroded away. Reform UK will defend these British values, using our laws against radicals wanting to destabalise our British way of life.

About Me

I’m your neighbor. I went to school here, and spent my working life contributing to our local economy. After seeing the world and living and running a business in Spain, I’ve realized there’s nowhere quite like our community — but it deserves a high standard of representation. I have the time, the experience, and the local roots to ensure our voices are heard. I’d love to hear what matters most to you as I look to represent the home we both love."

-----

I stood on these very streets as a child, attending St. Wilfrids Church of England Secondary School and learned the values that define us: hard work, integrity, and looking out for your neighbor. My education and my career were built right here in this community. While my travels abroad gave me a broader perspective on how the world is changing, they only deepened my resolve to protect what makes our home special. I’m not just running to represent this area; I’m running to serve the place that made me who I am. With the wisdom of experience and the heart of a local, I ask for your vote.

They say you have to leave home to truly appreciate it. I’ve traveled around parts of the world, but my heart never left Blackburn, Lancashire. I was educated here, I worked here, and I’ve watched this community evolve over the decades. Now, I’m at a stage in my life where I want to give back to the streets that raised me. We need leadership that understands our history but isn’t afraid of the future. I offer you a lifetime of local commitment combined with a high standard of professional experience. Let’s build a better Blackburn, together."

I now live on the Crescent, with my husband but in my childhood I went to St Francis Primary School, St Wilfrids secondary school, and, later on in life Blackburn University Center where I gained a Ba Hons degree in history and politics. I was also a Livesey Parish councilor. For many years I have run my own catering company and I won the Jane Asher home baker of the year and was a quarter finalist in the TV programme, Britain's Best Dish, so I'm very good at cakes!

My TV experience continues as I was recently a guest speaker on GB news. I'm proud to be the deputy chair of Reform Blackburn working with an enthusiastic dedicated team who like me really do want the best
for Blackburn and their individual wards.
